Peter and I have enjoyed being able to host guests from all over the world and to hear their stories. One of our guests from Florida commented at the end of their week with us that he believed that being able to make perfect strangers feel like family was a true gift. That is high praise and is truly why we do this.
It feels slightly egotistical to include some of our reviews from past guests below, but it may help you in your decision to book with us.
Speaking of booking, there are 2 ways to book a room.
1)You can call or email me directly, using the information on this website. I will then take your credit card information to hold the room(s) and will not charge you until you check in. For my international guests for whom time zones makes calling not an option, you can use the business email and my personal email to split your card information (which I will give you at that time).
2) We have an Airbnb booking site. The house is listed under the names of the room name: Autumn Room. Many guests like that because it takes care of payment and creates an easy way to communicate. Many of the reviews below are from our Airbnb site.
The airbnb option has fees that booking with me does not, but they also offer other advantages that travelers may prefer. If you are interested in renting the Spring or Winter room for your fellow travellers, you can only do that directly through me. We want to make you, our guest, feel safe and comfortable during your stay.

Spring Room
We had a wonderful stay with Peter and Kathleen. They were very gracious hosts, especially considering we arrived dirty and dripping wet after getting caught in a rainstorm biking into town. Not only did they let us use the washer dryer, but actually did laundry for us while we went to dinner. Location is perfect - close enough to walk to restaurants, but off the main drag on a quiet dead end street.

Spring Room
This was our first AirBnB experience and it far exceeded our expectations. Peter & Kathleen could not have been kinder or more accommodating. From greeting us upon our arrival to the wonderful homemade breakfast to their gorgeous dogs...the entire stay was simply perfect. DO NOT HESITATE to stay with them. They get our highest recommendation!

Kathleen and Peter were fabulous hosts. Their Guest House is just blocks from town, on a very quiet street. My husband and I stayed in the Autumn Room. It was warm, comfy and beautifully appointed. We were in town for some Adirondack cycling, and were offered the opportunity to store our bikes on the enclosed sun deck. Copies of maps for local cycling routes were made available. Kathleen was a wealth of information regarding dining options and local events and provides a variety of menus and brochures from local restaurants. Fatigue and early rising prevented us from accepting an evening invitation to sit in front of the fire. Breakfast is tailored to dietary needs complete with enjoyable and interesting conversation with our hosts. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available throughout the day and the atmosphere is beyond welcoming. This is the first time we have stayed at the Partridge Cottage Guest House. The shared bathroom does require some "planning", but we had no problem despite all rooms being occupied. We look forward to another visit.

This was, by far, my best Airbnb experience to date. Kathleen and Peter could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. Their place was super clean, the bed was super comfortable, and Kathleen's homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious! The morning I checked out, I had to jet out early, and Kathleen even packed me a breakfast care package to-go. It was the perfect start to my travel day. Kathleen and Peter were incredibly friendly and great conversationalists. It was instantly apparent that they enjoy hosting and learning about their guests, while also giving you as much space and privacy as you desire. Their local restaurant and activity suggestions were on point, as well. I highly recommend staying at Kathleen and Peter's legitimate airbnb when you visit the Lake Placid/Saranac Lake area. I will certainly look them up again if I return. Look no further. You will not be disappointed!

We loved our stay with Kathleen and Peter. Every morning we woke up to freshly baked homemade scones and muffins (hands down the best I've ever had), homemade yogurt (again, the best Greek yogurt I've ever had), homemade granola (toasted to perfection), homemade jam, fresh fruit bowls etc. We were sent off on our adventures with a heavenly breakfast each day. Kathleen was a wealth of knowledge and made the perfect recommendations for us, from the best lakes to paddle, which reliable company to rent canoes from, to which trails are good climbs for us, taking note of our mild knee issues. She also suggested for us to swim in certain lakes nearby, which was the perfect finale after hiking on a hot summer day. Both Kathleen and Peter were so warm and personable, and made us feel welcomed in their home. We got to pet their beautiful dogs Sophie and Annie. Loved the conversations we had with Kathleen and Peter as well, as they seem to know everything about ADK and beyond! We appreciated their rainbow flag at the front entrance of Partridge Cottage. The best hosts ever - we'll miss you and look forward to returning soon! Irene & Shelly
